Az Egyetem alapvető küldetésének azt tekintjük, hogy az ún. „Tudásháromszög" (Oktatás- Kutatás- Üzleti innováció) egyes területei közötti összehangolt együttműködéssel járuljon hozzá a XXI. század elvárásaihoz, a fenntartható fejlődés feltételrendszerének a kialakításához, mindenekelőtt a régió és az ország felemelkedéséhez.
Alapvető célkitűzésünk olyan, a környezetvédelem és az élhető környezet területére fókuszált egyetemi tudásközpont kialakítása, amely a tradíciókra építve, a szükséges anyagi feltételrendszer birtokában, annak optimális hasznosításával, nemzetközileg versenyképes színvonalon tud választ adni a kor új kihívásaira.
A Pannon Egyetem ÖKORET Tudásközpont átfogó célja egy olyan nemzetközileg is elismert egyetemi tudományos és technológiai innovációs műhely kialakítása, mely szakterületi és regionális vonzáscentrumként kiemelkedő kutatás¬fejlesztési, valamint technológiai innovációs tevékenységet folytat. A Veszprém-Székesfehérvár Fejlesztési Pólusnak, más vetületben a Közép-Dunántúlnak, mint az innováció régiójának egyetlen egyetemeként az ezen adottság jelentette lehetőség és egyben felelősség tudatában munkájában intenzíven együttműködik a környező gazdasági szférával, ezáltal tevékenysége ösztönzőleg hat a régió technológiai és gazdasági fejlődésére, azaz megvalósul a Tudásalapú gazdaságfejlesztésre alapuló regionális húzóerő kifejtése.
A Központ létrehozásával tehát az a célkitűzés vezérli a Pannon Egyetemet, hogy meghatározza a Közép-Dunántúli Régió gazdasági, műszaki, tudományos, társadalmi, politikai fejlődésének irányait, lehetőségeit, sőt hatása a határokon túl is érvényesüljön a környezetvédelem területén. A régióban az erős vezető szerepet egy modern, az Európai Unió követelményrendszeréhez igazodó regionális tudáscentrum létrehozásával lehet megteremteni. A Tudásközpont sikerének kulcsa egyrészt a hagyomá¬nyokra építő, a klasszikus egyetemi imázzsal operáló, de már a korszerű jövőt jelentő fókuszált hasznosíthatóságorientált K+F programok megvalósítása, másrészt az inno¬vációs és üzleti szemlélet felsőoktatásban történő erősítése, mely elemek együttesen alapvetően meg tudják változtatni az egyetemi struktúrát és fenntartható fejlődési pályát jelölnek ki az egyetemnek.
Közvetlen és közvetett hatásként a kutatás mellett a képzésben is megjelenik a versenyszférából begyűrűző hatékonyság, mint kényszerítő és ösztönző ismérv és kísérő jelenségként az ipari szakemberek képzésbe bevonása, illetve az ipari partnerek felé történő nyitás, mely során a képzésben érintettek közvetlenül tapasztalatokat szerez¬hetnek a gyakorlat oldaláról.
Translation - English Mission statement
We believe that the basic mission of the University of Pannonia is to meet the challenges of the 21st century by harmonizing the fields of the so-called “Knowledge Triangle” (Education, Research and Business innovation); to help establish the conditions for sustainable development; and above all, to contribute to the progress of the region and the country.
Our basic objective is to establish an environment-focused, tradition-based university knowledge center which would be internationally competitive and financially stable enough to meet the century’s new challenges.
The overall objective of the ÖKORET Knowledge Center of the University of Pannonia is to establish an internationally acknowledged university scientific and technological innovation workshop which would work as a regional and professional center of outstanding research-development and innovation programs.
Being the only university of the Veszprem-Szekesfehervar Development Pole Program and even Central-Transdanubia (the region of innovation), the University of Pannonia assumes the liability of this special role through its intensive cooperative efforts with the region’s economic sector. This has a positively stimulates the region’s technological and economic development. In other words, this knowledge-based economic development acts as a stimulating force at regional levels.
With the establishment of the center, the University of Pannonia aims to determine the directions and possibilities for economic, technical, scientific, social and political development in the Central-Transdanubian Region. In addition, it aims to extend the center’s environmental influence over the borders. To maintain a strong leadership role in the region, the university must establish a regional knowledge center which corresponds to European standards. The key to success in the case of the Knowledge Center is, first of all, the tradition-based but market-oriented R&D programs, and secondly the emphasis on innovation and business in higher education. These together can change the university’s structure and they can show new directions for sustainable development for the university.
Efficiency, as an incentive force from the private sector is now present not only in research but also in education either in direct or indirect ways. The involvement of industrial experts and the orientation toward the industrial partners make hand-on experiences available to students.

Ivó-, ásvány- és forrásvizek radiológiai mérései során vizs-gáltuk a napi, illetve évszakos változásokat. Részt vettünk egy új alfa/béta mérõberendezés kifejlesztésében (mérési adatbázis, illetve fejlesztés).
A talajgáz radonkoncentrációjának meghatározásánálkí-sérleti jelleggel különbözõ beavatkozási módszereket végeztünk el épületeken és teszteltük a beavatkozás hatásfokát (kísérleti fejlesztés, adaptálás).
A zárt terek radonkoncentrációjának mérésénél pontosítottuk a lakóépületek, közintézetek, radon-veszélyeztetettség szempontjából kitüntetett munkahelyek (bányák, barlangok, fürdõk, stb.) légtéri radonkoncentrációjának, a radonkon-centrációt befolyásoló paramétereknek a meghatározását.
Translation - English Radioecological sampling
We have made radioecological assessments of the daily and seasonal changes of drinking-, mineral- and spring waters. We have participated in the development of a new alpha/beta measurement device (measurement database and development). We have made many interference experiments during the measurements of the radon concentration of soil gas in bu-ildings and we have also tested the impact of our interfe-rence (pilot development, adaptation).
When measuring the radon concentration of closed spaces, we have continued to make assessments with more accurate data to define the ambient radon concentration and the effecting parameters of high risk workplaces (mines, caves, spas, etc.).
