With almost 40 of experience as a professional interpreter, I work in a variety of areas, from business and politics, to art and literature, to more technical areas. My work provides me with a wide range of experiences, from interpreting for presidents, prime ministers and royalty, to using my linguistic capabilities in peacekeeping operations and negotiations between guerilla forces and government.
I credit my life as a diplomat child and former diplomat wife, as well as my training as a transcendental meditation instructor, for my flexibility in adjusting to new places, situations, cultures and people, as well as an ability to perform under pressure.
My first experiences interpreting came naturally as a child translating for family and friends, and I continued in this path, reading languages and linguistics for the London University GCEs, as well as at Universidade Gama Filho, and Stockholm’s University.
At present I work internationally, mainly in Europe and the Americas.

Personal
As a diplomat's child I was brought up with at least 4 languages spoken daily at home and school from early childhood. It is second nature to shift back and forth from one language to another, as well as between different cultural frameworks.

I find it easy to communicate with all kinds of people, and appreciate variety and change.

I have previously been married to a diplomat, and have lived, studied and worked in 14 countries in 5 continents. I am now married to a Swede and stationed in Stockholm and Alicante.
