AUSTRALIANS*
ARE VITAMIN D DEFICIENT
1 IN 3 AUSTRALIANS* ARE VITAMIN D DEFICIENT
We all know that calcium is important for strong bones, but what about Vitamin D?
Did you know?
• Vitamin D helps our bodies absorb the calcium that’s essential for producing strong, healthy bones.
• If we don’t get enough Vitamin D, our bodies can’t absorb calcium efficiently, no matter how much we consume.
• Good bone and muscle health is essential for maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
• Vitamin D supplementation supports immune system function and may reduce the risk of falls, due to improved muscle tone and strength.
• Vitamin D is primarily produced in the skin, as a result of direct exposure to sunlight.
• If you’re older, have darker skin or have limited sun exposure,* through an indoor lifestyle or covering up, you may have low Vitamin D levels.
• Foods alone do not provide enough Vitamin D for the body. Only a few foods contain a small amount of Vitamin D, such as egg yolk, oily fish and fortified margarines.
• Ostelin is Australia’s #1 bone health and Vitamin D brand.
Despite our sunny climate, 1 in 3 Australians are Vitamin D deficient, so next time you’re at the GP, ask about Ostelin. You can also assess your risk online at ostelin.com.au

Source text - English One of my heroes is Joni Eareckson Tada. Most of you know the story of her diving accident that left her almost completely paralyzed. In an interview with World Magazine (January 12, 2013), Joni revealed something of which I was unaware. It’s a stunning illustration of divine providence, both sweet and a bit strange.
The day before the incident Joni had gone to the drugstore to purchase a bottle of Nice ‘n Easy midnight summer blonde to lighten her hair color. She then explains: “Had my hair not been shockingly blonde, my sister Cathy would never have seen me face down in the water. She told me later on, ‘Joni, you were a mousy blonde and that water was dark and murky. Only because of the peroxided hair did I even see you.’ God sometimes uses the incidental choices we make to change our lives.” Indeed!

“Graham and I want a better future for Queensland families. What we care about is whether your kids are getting better schools. Whether people in the city and country have access to fast broadband. Whether your local hospital has a decent emergency department. Whether you have a strong economy and job security.”
Kevin Rudd
Prime Minister of Australia
“Graham Perrett and I want a better future for Queensland families.
Together let’s support Graham to keep him fighting for the Southside.”
Kevin and Graham have taken positive action to increase pensions
and introduce tax reform to assist local families with cost of living pressures.
Only Kevin and Graham will fight for education funding and real reform to benefit all families, like the Better Schools Plan.
Kevin and Graham stand up for local jobs. The Rudd Government needs your
support to prevent job cuts which will weaken our economy.
“As part of Kevin Rudd’s Queensland team, I’m standing up for local families
and fighting for the Southside.“
