Source text - French Je suis réveillée par le son de mes propres sanglots,
je crie et me débats, je réclame un bain, des cafards
grimpent sur mon corps nu, je ne reconnais pas les
visages soucieux penchés sur moi. Puis les images se
mêlent, je murmure des mots confus... et je me rendors.
Quelques heures plus tard, je fixe le plafond, on
fait couler dans ma bouche une potion amère, je ne
me débats plus, des chuchotements nerveux me parviennent
: « A-t-elle encore beaucoup de fièvre ? Lui
as-tu donné à boire ? Comment a-t-elle pu ?... » Les
phrases restent en suspens, se perdent dans un
silence épais et cotonneux, je glisse à nouveau dans le
sommeil.
Cela dura deux jours. La révolution qui envahissait
les rues de notre ville, de notre pays, avait balayé
mon corps, mon coeur. Et, bientôt, ma famille aussi.
J’avais dix-sept ans, et mon enfance s’enfuyait pour
toujours.
Translation - Italian Vengo svegliata dal suono dei miei stessi singhiozzi, grido e mi dibatto, ho bisogno di un bagno, scarafaggi si arrampicano sul mio corpo nudo, non riconosco i volti preoccupati chini su di me. Poi le immagini si confondono, mormoro parole confuse… e mi riaddormento. Qualche ora dopo, fisso il soffitto, mi fanno colare in bocca uno sciroppo amaro, non mi dibatto più, mi giungono sussurri nervosi: «Ha ancora molta febbre? Le hai dato da bere? Come ha potuto?...». Le frasi restano sospese, si perdono in un silenzio spesso ed ovattato, scivolo di nuovo nel sonno.
Tutto questo per due giorni. La rivoluzione che invadeva le strade della nostra città, del nostro paese, aveva spazzato via il mio corpo, il mio cuore; e, presto, anche la mia famiglia. Avevo diciassette anni, e la mia infanzia fuggiva per sempre.

In love with languages from my youngest years, I used to read latin while in primary school!
Once became an adult (or something like), after a linguistic high school graduation (English, French and Spanish were a MUST), I decided to improve my skill facing the study of Japanese, and I also graduated in Sapienza University of Rome.
I have never really finished to study languages, being such a vital and everchanging matter, and I never will.
I had many different working experiences with languages: translator, interpreter, subtitling, rights agent for publishing companies ... everything was necessary to build up my professional profile and personality.
In these last years, I decided to specialise myself in the medical field, being the medicine one of my main interests, and I started University classes in medicine, so to improve my knowledge and skill.
After my University graduation, I travelled a lot (but not enough), moved from house to house, had fun with friends, gave birth to my beautiful and beloved baby and enjoied my life as much as I could, and made a lot of different jobs to finally find my place in the working world which is, definitely, the translation.
I am currently living in Germany, a brand new relocation which is a challenge for the whole family, and I am thus learning the 5th foreign language of my life (I have never enough!).
