My initial university course at Munich university was in law, which I quickly decided to change to graphic arts, in favour of more technical interests. I completed my training as a printing technician in 1980, a career which I still pursue today as a freelance desktop publisher.
I moved to Italy in 1985 to study architecture at Florence university. Subsequently I worked freelance for several local construction companies and estate agencies and their clients, mostly from German and English speaking countries, for the renovation of old country houses.
During these years, I became fully acquainted with the use of computers, which I also used extensively for the design aspect of my construction career at that time and bought my first Apple Mac computer. This innate passion for computers led to my return to the graphic industry. Since 1997 I have in fact worked as a freelance translator and Webmaster, desktop publisher and in the prepress industry.
I am completely fluent in my three working languages, and the areas of specialist knowledge listed on my CV are based on both first-hand work experience and personal interest. |
