French to English: Petrus review from Le Figaro Detailed field: Wine / Oenology / Viticulture

Translation - English Grapes are harvested at optimum ripeness over two afternoons, once the morning dew has had time to clear. After optical sorting, gentle extraction, and pressing, fermentation is carried out in temperature-controlled concrete vats. These days the wine is made entirely from Merlot grapes, with the last Cabernet Franc vines being removed from the vineyard after the 2010 harvests. Wines are matured for 12-16 months in new oak barrels (50%).
The wine itself is wonderfully seductive and stands out for its superb elegance, intense colour, powerful and complex bouquet, and its especially rich, sumptuous fruit. It can be aged for 25 years, or longer in its finest years.
Only around 30,000 bottles are produced annually. A now legendary wine, with consistently high quality and truly at the top of its prestigious appellation, it sells for thousands of euros a bottle, making even a simple tasting out of reach for the average wine enthusiast.

Spanish to English: 3Sesenta's report on Red Bull Rivals surf comp in Cantabria Detailed field: Sports / Fitness / Recreation
Translation - English There were perfect wave conditions for the second round of the event, making it easy to see why so many consider this Cantabrian wave to be one of the best beach breaks in Europe. “Large depressions with strong winds form in the south of Greenland and when they reach Cantabria the area’s seabed and bathymetry cause them to expand in two directions, in turn creating El Brusco,” explains the peninsula’s Local Hero Pablo Gutiérrez, summarizing the words of Antonio Espejo, a researcher from the University of Cantabria’s Environmental Hydraulics Institute. “The sand forms in the perfect shape over the rocks, creating a slope that leads to those incredible barrels.”
It wasn’t just the barrels that were turning heads at El Brusco, however, with both teams pulling off some impressive manoeuvres. Carving, floaters and wipeouts kept emotions running high right until the last minute. But after their victory in the first round (5-9) at the left-hander of La Santa (Lanzarote) and using a clever team strategy, it was ultimately the Péninsula team who took home the overall win (19-9).
