German term

lösungsorientiert

German to English Other
This is about a healthy lifestyle. "Die Ernährung spielt ebenso wie die Bewegung eine große Rolle. Ob wir uns richtig entspannen und lösungsorientiert denken können, ist darüber hinaus wichtig." I do not think "problem-solving" would be the answer, more on the lines of "focused approach"

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you, Angie! Jerrie was a close runner-up. It was just one of those typical German expressions you cannot simply 'adopt'. This is why I added it to the glossary 'as is'."

Solution oriented thinking

Consider your philosophy class as stretching your brain in ways nurses usually do not. We nurses tend to think in straight lines, with a goal in mind (solution-oriented thinking). Philosophy is thinking for the joy of thinking, no particular place to go and you get to meander into all sorts of interesting areas...

search for and find

Ich denke, daß es besser ist, sich nicht an die deutschen Ausdrücke zu klammern, wie wäre es zum Beispiel mit:

Above that, it's important whether we could relaxe while searching for and finding.

to look for = 86) to heed one's behaviour,
(7) to be on the watch,
(8) to search for and find (Collins English dictionary)
Peer comment(s):

neutral Aniello Scognamiglio (X) : "while searching for and finding...", fehlt da nicht das Objekt?

to think constructively

when one thinks constructively he tries to think in regards to solving problems. i think this fits the context rather well.

remain focussed (on the end result)

Diet and exercise are important. But it's also important to be able to relax and:
remain/stay/keep focussed on the end result
stay on course
keep the end in sight
aim for the overall goal
steer in the right direction

Providing the loesung is still referring to the overall healthy lifestyle.
