Does از کسن خشم گرفتن refer to taking one’s anger out on someone or simply to scolding them?

"When I was angry with one of my servants," or: .. "when I was enraged with one of my servants," without necessarily explaining if action is taken. However, "scolding" could be an adequate and more expressive translation, given the literary context.
