Find the crease between the helix and the preauricular skin and mark a line from the top of the helix to the lobe. In previously operated patients, use the scar to make this incision. In patients with multiple scars, excise the scarred tissue with the initial incision and revise the scar at closure. The superior aspect of the incision should be extended anteriorly and superiorly 4cm at a 45 degree angle to the zygomatic process of the temporal bone

Se sugiere que se haga la incisión sobre una cicatriz ya existente. El propósito es no crear nuevas cicatrices que sean notables. El propósito de verificar la cicatriz es para asegurar que se cierre lo más preciso posible y así evitar desalineamiento de los tejidos que habían cicatrizado la primera vez, de esta forma la nueva cicatriz será más difícil de detectar.

revisar la cicatriz en el momento del cierre

En pacientes con varias cicatrices previas se extirpa el tejido cicatricial, por ello será necesario revisar la cicatriz en el momento del cierre para que los bordes de la herida sean adecuados y la cicatriz lo más estética posible.

When having surgery, the doctor does not converge the skin from one side to the other when closing the wound, I undestand for what I read that the incision was made on a previous scar, so when closing they have to revise the scar so there is only one scar and not two scars right next to each other.
