bright shades presented in transparency

A bit of a guess I'm afraid, but I do know (from seeing a TV documentary a couple of weeks ago here in France) that a "cahier de tendance" is a sort of book/file telling (dictating, some would argue) the fashion industry what colours and items will be fahsionable in the comoing seasons. (Sorry, don't know the English translation). Having seen one on the programme, I would guess that the colours concerned are on transparent pages, a bit like an OHP slide. Anyway maybe this'll give you something to go on! Good luck.

bright colors/colours/hues presented by transparencies in ...

color/colour/hue (depending on which you prefer given that "hue" is apparently the 'right' term although 'color/colour' is what is commonly used).

I cannot decide what the difference is between vivid and bright, and whether it makes much difference to your text, but both sound right, if that is any help.

As to "transparency", this is a commonly used for the OHP (overhead projector) plastic sheets used when giving a talk, but also, and perhaps erroneously for "slide" (as in "diapo").

In either case, stick to transparency, as it covers both. I agree with Buzzy. We obviously saw the same programme here in France (Capital? d'Emmanuel Chain sur la 6 ???). These are part of what might be included in the trend books. Swatches, slides, transparencies, fragrances, leaves, bits of paper are all potentially included in in what is a sort of design predicition consultant's scrapbook!

As I read it, "traités" is used in the sense of "dealt with" in the trend books.
