One of my clients had problems yesterday sending an email to my main address (he phoned me saying all attempts failed) and today I’m receiving less messages than usual (never thought that I would miss all the unsolicited CVs I have been receiving for a while…). So, are you experiencing the same or am I just being “paranoid”? | | | Lieven Malaise Belgium Local time: 18:08 Member (2020) French to Dutch + ... Second email address | Mar 10, 2023 |
If you have a second email address, you can see for yourself if everything still works as it should.
I can relate to the anxiety. In slower periods I always get the nasty feeling that there might be something terribly wrong with my email. Luckily it never is (until now). | | | Joe France United Kingdom Local time: 17:08 German to English + ...
Is Gmail involved by any chance? I use Gmail for my main business email and have never had any issues until now, and only then with one client, whose emails seem to bounce back for some reason. We've had a look at the error reports and can't figure out if the issue is on her end or mind. I actually haven't had any other emails this morning, but I'm putting that down to a slow day more than anything.

I use Gmail and for one of my clients, who uses Orange, there are often problems, and they have said they often have problems with Gmail addresses. Gmail and Orange are not compatible somehow. They now send all their emails to the Gmail address and my personal address, which is better than nothing. Then they end up calling me because I don't look at my personal address much any more. | |

Yes, Gmail is involved on both sides (mine and my client). For over one hour all emails sent bounced back. | | | Mr. Satan (X) English to Indonesian
I had the same issue recently, with Outlook. My email address was practically dead for an entire day. Thankfully, I also left my phone number as an alternative contact method. Got problems with LinkedIn as well when I was trying to reach out to a colleague.

Thanks for your replies, Kay and Maria. Very frustrating. We've tried it again since and it's worked but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it, and I haven't seen any updates from Google/Gmail on their social media platforms to explain it.
