母语的困惑

R4. 整车前，有冇畀服务/修理啲影印件？R5. Was a free loaner car provided?

I'm afraid there's a mistake in the translation of "Were you addressed appropriately?". Here "addressed" means "spoken to", or "greeted".
FWIW, here's an example of this usage:

P.S. I hope this kind of feedback is useful, and not seen as a nuisance.

从你给的语境看来，应该是需要书面语。但最好向客户求证一下，或自己出两种文风，问对方需要哪种。我就曾经吃过亏，客户说要Cantonese，我就以为他们要普遍流行的香港书面语。可是，客户给香港方面的客户看后告诉我“This is not Cantonese”。我把流行于网上的两种文风的文字，做了多份给他们看，企业说服他们这是“香港书面语”，就是香港银行用的那种。但香港方面几个看后，矢口否认。面对这种情况，我这个地地道道的广东人，也就只能哑巴吃黄莲，自认倒霉了。换言之，有些香港人也不知道或看不出“香港书面语”和大陆语言的细微区别！据一个调查显示，香港人有很多不知道珠江在哪里。而香港一个很火爆的游戏节目《百万富翁》，经常请一些明星上来助庆。结果，有些明星给的答案简直令人啼笑皆非，有些简直就是弱智的！
但必须指出，客户说“Traditional”的时候，除了台湾的以外，还包括一种是大陆风格但要用繁体字的。这种文字主要针对海外华人，因为当中有大多数人不懂简体字，所以要把简体转成繁体。还有一种情况，要求“Cantonese”，可是不需要繁体，也不需要香港风格，但针对什么市场，我就搞不清楚了。
PS：您应该将文字转成繁体(Big-5)，但要注意转换后一些字的变化，如“下面”变成“下麺”，须手动转换过来。建议不要选“转换时包括词汇”，否则微软不懂繁体字也包括香港的，全部给您转成台湾的。

多谢wherestip和Last Hermit的reference.
在word的“工具”上做了两种尝试，当然两种都没有选“转换时包括词汇”，一个摒弃了“使用港澳台地区的异体字”，另一个保留，结果没甚区别，“异体字”是什么玩意？应在哪一个部位找寻“转成繁体(Big-5)”？我认为，对于译入语是繁体，使用word的“工具”基本可以解决问题，再加上一些繁体输入法，把不能用工具转换的“下面”变成“下麺”，也就是要记得一些不能简转繁的字，用繁体输入法进行加工，就是一篇繁体译文了。针对不同的终端客户，在遣词造句方面，如能带上港味或台湾味，更是锦上添花。这就是我对繁体的理解。

广东话有书面语和口语之分，二者差别之大宛如两种语言。书面语文体跟台湾差不多。客户一般要求书面语翻译，我从来没有遇到过要口语文体的翻译。口语文体翻译只能由以Cantonese为母语的人进行，我等之辈可没有那个能耐，就是读懂别人写的东西都不容易。口语里保留了许多古汉语的痕迹。

Oh, no. Not me myself. 我爸是广州人(番禺). 所以以前在国内户口本上我们籍贯填的都是广州。 再往前算，祖籍却是江浙一带了 （Or so I was told）。 也是因老祖宗当官被派到广东而迁移。 到我爸爸那代他们还都视自己为外地人。
美国这儿的老广是比较扎堆儿的。 不会粤语，到纽约 Mott Street 去玩儿都是吃不开的。
