Human Translators and Machine Translators: Possibilities of Interaction
You must log in before you can access most features of this event.
Schedule:
This session ended at 13:45
Description:
The evolution of machine translation systems has been remarkable, rekindling the debate about the possibility that they might threaten human translator’s profession. While it still seems unlikely that human translators will be completely replaced by machines, it is quite evident that these technologies will affect — are already affecting indeed — translators’ work. In this session, I will demonstrate different ways in which machine translation may be integrated in the translation process by the translator him/herself, as an additional tool, used: as a source of terminology research, as a first translation draft to be post-edited by the human translator, or as a resource connected to CAT tools.
This session will be following a TEXT ONLY Q&A session with the presenter. Submit questions on this page.
