Bio:My grandfather was a Scottish immigrant in Chile, and my parents are Chilean immigrants in Costa Rica. I spent my formative years in Honduras, attending an American school and then returned to Costa Rica, where I studied in a German school. This multi-cultural backgroun...d sparked my interest in language and the nuances of communication, so I got my degree in Spanish Philology and wrote my Linguistics thesis in Pragmatics, specifically politeness. I later got another Master's degree in Translation, with a paper on how to apply a pragmatic approach to translation.
I am an aspiring ballroom dancer, an amateur flamenco dancer and would-be yogini that is passionate about translating and interpreting, and love to explore the ways we express ourselves. I have been translating since 2003 and interpreting since 2006 and I love my job as a freelancer, as I get to delve into many different worlds and topics, learning more and more along the way.
