The apple snail family or Ampullariidae are common freshwater snails in many tropical area's around the world and several species have made their way to the aquarium trade to become a popular pet snail.
Their attractive appearance and relatively big size (5 to 15 cm / 2 to 6 inch, depending of the species) greatly contribute to their success. However, despite it's popularity, many misconceptions still surround these also called mystery snails. For instance, most popular aquarium books refer to these snails with Ampullaria gigas and Ampullaria cuprina, while these names are both erroneous and obsolete in the scientific literature for years. Historically seen, these name problems are well understandable as many of works from the authors who described these snails back in 18th and 19th century are unknown in the hobbyist literature.
Under the currently accepted nomenclature the apple snail family (Ampullariidae) is divided in several genera: Asolene, Felipponea, Marisa and Pomacea are the New World genera (South America, Central America, the West Indies and the Southern U.S.A.), while the genera Afropomus, Lanistes and Saulea are found in Africa. The genus Pila is native in both Africa and Asia.
The separated sexes in apple snails is another common misconception. Contrary to what most people thinks, not all snails are hermaphroditic with apple snails being an example amongst many others. This knowledge is quite important when people would like to breed these snails or just want to prevent them doing so. Unfortunately it's difficult to determine the sex of in most apple snail species solely on their appearance, unless they mate or when the female deposits her eggs.

Jablkové slimáky - čelaď Ampullariidae sú bežné sladkovodné slimáky v mnohých tropických oblastiach sveta a viaceré druhy sa stali populárnymi a chovajú sa v akváriách. Ich atraktívny výzor a relatívne veľké rozmery (5 -15 cm, záležiac na druhu) prispievajú k ich obľúbenosti. Hoci sú populárne, tieto slimáky - tiež volané mystery snails (záhadné slimáky) stále obklopuje veľa mylných predstáv. Napríklad, väčšina populárnych kníh o akváriách ich volá Ampullaria gigas a Ampullaria cuprina, hoci tieto názvy sú nielen chybné, ale vo vedeckej literatúre už roky zastaralé. Tieto problémy s pomenovaním sú pochopiteľné, keďže mnohé diela autorov ktorí týchto slimákov opísali v 18. a v 19. storočí moderná literatúra neuvádza. Podľa momentálne uznávaného označenia, čelaď jablkových slimákov (Ampullariidae) sa delí na viaceré rody: Asolene,Felipponea, Marisa a Pomacea pochádzajú z Nového Sveta (Južná Amerika, Stredná Amerika, Veľké a Malé Antily a južná časť USA), a Afropomus, Lanistes a Saulea sú z Afriky. Rod Pila žije v Afrike a aj v Ázii. Mnohí si myslia, že všetky slimáky - vrátane jablkových slimákov - sú hermafroditi, ale to je len jeden z bežných omylov, pretože jablkové slimáky sú rozdielneho pohlavia. Tento fakt sa stane dosť dôležitým, keď sa rozhodnete tieto slimáky rozmnožovať, alebo im v tom, práve naopak, zabrániť. Bohužial, len podľa výzoru nie je jednoduché určiť pohlavie väčšiny druhov jablkových slimákov, ak ich len nevidíte práve keď sa pária, alebo keď samička ukladá vajíčka.

Note: The underside of the treadmill walking belt is coated with high-performance lubricant. During shipping, some lubricant may be transferred to the top of the walking belt or the shipping carton. This is normal and does not affect treadmill performance. If there is lubricant on top of the walking belt, simply wipe off the lubricant with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.

Poznámka: Spodná časť bežeckého pása trenažéra je pokrytá vysoko účinným mazadlom. Môže sa stať, že počas prepravy sa trochu mazadla dostalo na vrch bežeckého pása, alebo na prepravný kartón. Toto nie je na závadu a funkčnosť trenažéra týmto nebude ovplyvnená. Ak je mazadlo na vrchu bežeckého pása, jednoducho ho odstráňte mäkkou handrou a jemným, neabrazívnym čistiacim prostriedkom.
