Hello, its lovely to meet you, I am a translation and interpreting
student in my final year of my BA at Newcastle university and I would
love the opportunity to demonstrate the skills and abilities that I have
learned over the course of my studies as well as gain some further work
experience in my field of study. I am native in both Spanish and
English and I also speak Japanese and Italian to an intermediate level. I
have 3 years of Translating and Interpreting experience at Newcastle
university where I have received an award for my participation in the
translation and edition of the book: “The pilgrimage to Santiago de
Compostela from Great Britain: a preliminary approach” from Spanish to
english which has been published. I was also employed by the university for the duration of an
academic year to add English subtitles to Spanish documentaries recorded
in South American countries including Colombia and Venezuela. I consider myself friendly and hardworking, and as a university student, I am very efficient at
meeting tight deadlines and handling a tough workload. Additionally, I
am also very familiar with all microsoft tools as well as CAT tools including Trados and MateCat as I
often use them for my studies and translation work. I consider myself a quick learner and work well both individually
and as part of a team which makes me quite flexible as a freelancer and able to adapt to all types of projects.
