I’m a freelance Localization
Professional (mostly English -> Italian). I first spent more than 10
years at global companies, mostly in the 3D design/virtual reality software and
high-tech industries (such as SolidWorks and Dassault Systèmes), collaborating
also with provider localization companies, such as SDL and Lionbridge. There, I
honed my skills localizing marketing and
technical contents, learning about different domains: design, engineering,
medical/health, musical instruments, physics, transportation, food, packaging…
These were in fact the domains in which the clients (and thus the target
public) of those global companies thrived.  I then started working as a freelancer, collaborating
with global localization companies, thus dealing again with clients in the most
diverse businesses.

     
I’m literally fascinated by the magic of languages, that can ‘’create’’
concepts and images, feelings and sensations… and I love learning about new domains and new cultures.

     I have a personal interest
in Cognitive Psychology, Life Sciences and (Integrated) Medicine and Health. I also
practice some complementary
medicine disciplines (see my LinkedIn profile for more details on this) and yoga, and I’d
be happy to work also on projects concerning these realms.

    
Furthermore, I’m a User Experience researcher, working virtually in any kind of domain
requiring UX optimization of their products. This gives me the possibility of
gaining deep insights into needs and concepts related to different industries
and fields.

       I own SDL Trados Studio.
