English to Spanish: Integration Project Archive (Tanja Ostojić)
Source text - English The Integration Project Archive consists of 40 hours of unedited video interviews, audio materials, books, essays, interviews, documents, photos, flyers, brochures, contributions in written form and photocopied materials, newspaper articles, etc. This material has an important link to ongoing research, and wherever the archive is exhibited, it is accompanied by a photocopier and a working corner, where anyone interested can freely compile the exhibited material and copy and arrange it according to their own interests. Contributions from local NGOs and visitors are warmly welcome.
Compiling an archive has proven to be a very helpful device for Tanja Ostojić’s ongoing work. All of her artworks that have been developed in the frame of the “Crossing Borders” series, the “Integration Project” or “Naked Life” have their base or extension in this archive.

English to Basque: Recognition in Art - Aitorpena artean (Natalie Heinich)
Source text - English In her 1985 survey on “The Artists”, French sociologist Raymonde Moulin and her collaborators discovered that there is no discrimination according to gender concerning entry into an artistic career; but there is indeed a discrimination concerning success: whereas the proportion of women artists in France is similar to the proportion of women in the whole population, and roughly equivalent to the proportion of men artists, the proportion of women who benefit of a high social visibility as an artist is much lower than the proportion of men who benefit of such a visibility; 42% of the less visible artists are women, whereas only 4% of the most visible artists are women.
What does this mean? It means that the problem for a feminist history of art is not a matter of creation, nor even a matter of exhibition. The problem is a matter of recognition. Indeed, before concluding that women artists are less recognized than men because they would not be as good artists, it is worth wondering whether this difference in recognition does not come out of the very mechanisms of artistic recognition.
This is why we should try to understand what is really recognition, and how social sciences deal with this concept. It is what I intend to do with you today.

Translation - Basque Raymonde Moulin frantses soziologoak eta haren laguntzaileek 1985ean eginiko “Artistak” ikerketaren arabera, ez dago sexu bereizkeriarik artearekin zerikusia duen lanbide batean hasteko orduan, bai ordea arrakastari dagokionean. Frantziako emakume artisten proportzioa populazio osoaren emakumezko proportzioaren berdintsua da, baita gizon artisten proportzio berekoa ere gutxi gorabehera. Haatik, sozialki entzute handia duten artisten artean, emakumeen proportzioa gizonezkoena baino askoz baxuagoa da; izan ere, entzute gutxiago duten artisten %42 emakumezkoak dira, eta entzute gehien duten artisten artean, %4 besterik ez.
Zer esan nahi du horrek? Artearen historia feministaren arazoa ez dela sorkuntza arazoa, ez eta erakusketen arazoa ere. Arazoa aitorpena da. Emakumezkoak ez direla gizonezkoak bezain artista onak eta horregatik aitorpen gutxiago dutela ondorioztatu baino lehen, gure buruari galdetu beharko genioke aitorpen ezberdintasun hori arte aitorpenaren mekanismotik ez ote datorren hain justu.
Horregatik guztiagatik, ahalegindu behar dugu aitorpena zehazki zer den eta gizarte zientziek kontzeptu horrekin nola jokatzen duten ulertzen. Hori da gaur zuekin egiten saiatuko naizena.

English to Basque: Re.act.feminism
Source text - English The heart of the exhibition is the mobile archive, a temporary collection of XXX videos and films and YYY photographic documents. The mobile archive is based on the video archive for re.act.feminism – performancekunst der 1960er und 70er jahre heute (re.act.feminism – performance art of the 1960s and 70s today) (Academy of the Arts Berlin 2008/2009). The focus of the re.act.feminism project was the performance movements in Western and Eastern Europe and the USA.
In the course of the current project, this geographical focus will be broadened through the local research of European partner institutions as well as research done by scholars from several Latin American countries and from the Mediterranean and Arab region. We will thus continue along the lines already established by the research for the first edition of re.act.feminism. We also go beyond a Eurocentric canon, thereby expanding our own curatorial viewpoint by integrating other perspectives.
The mobile archive comprises a set of 5 foldable transport crates which can be converted into one archive cabinet and four work stations for the individual study of videos, films and photographic documents. An accompanying handbook offers information on all the works and assists visitors with viewing choices.
The archive predominantly consists of video and film documentation. Works primarily from the 1960s and 70s that have not been documented on film for various reasons will be integrated into the archive in a special section on photographic documentation.

Translation - Basque Erakusketa honen muina artxibo higikorra da, XXX bideoak eta filmak zein YYY argazkiak biltzen dituen bilduma. re.act.feminism – performancekunst der 1960er und 70er Jahre heute (re.act.feminism – 60ko eta 70eko hamarkadetako performance artea gaur egun) proiektuarentzako dira artxibo higikor horiek (Berlineko Arteen Akademia 2008/2009). re.act.feminism proiektuaren aztergaiak Europa mendebaldeko eta ekialdeko eta Estatu Batuetako performance mugimenduak dira.
Oraingo proiektu honetan, muga geografikoa zabalduko dugu, alde batetik, Europako instituzio kideen ikerketa lokalen bidez, eta bestetik, Latinoamerikako, Mediterraneoko eta Arabiako zenbait adituk eginiko ikerketen bidez. Honenbestez, re.act.feminism proiektuaren lehengo edizioaren ildo beretik jarraitzeaz gain, egozentrismo europarraren kanonetik haratago joan nahi dugu; horrela gure artezkari-ikuspuntua zabalduko dugu, beste ikusmolde batzuk kontuan hartuta .
Artxibo higikorra garraiatu daitezkeen bost kaxak osatzen dute. Kaxa horiek armairu bihurtu daitezke, eta lau lan gune osatu daitezke bideo, film eta argazki dokumentuak bakarka ikertzeko. Horrez gain, eskuliburu bat dago eskuragarri, bisitariei lan guztien informazioa eta zer ikusi dezaketen azaltzeko asmoz..
Artxiboan batez ere bideo eta film dokumentazioa aurkitu daiteke. 60ko eta 70eko hamarkadan eginiko lanak dira gehienak, eta arrazoi ugarirengatik ez ziren film alorrean dokumentatu. Guk, beraz, argazki dokumentazioko alor berezi batean artxibatu ditugu.

English to Basque: Art making and self-translation / Arte jarduera eta geure burua eraldatzea (Teresa de Lauretis)
Source text - English Art only exists in a social context but the social is not the only dimension of art. While the aesthetic, technical, cultural, historical or political contexts are typically considered in the discourse on art, feminist theory has brought into focus the dimension of experience in artistic production. That is to say that art, like theory, originates in an embodied subjectivity that is historically and socially grounded.
By experience I do not mean simply what one knows or can do well but also the ensemble of habits, dispositions, memories, attitudes and expectations that each person has acquired as a result of the social reality in which one has lived. What I call subjectivity is the complex process by which each human born becomes a social being and a unique individual. The process involves both body and soul, emotions, intellect and fantasies; it begins in infancy and continues throughout one’s life. Subjectivity is not the same as identity, which is how I am placed or place myself vis–à–vis others in a social field. While identity is multiple and conscious, subjectivity is singular, unique, and only partially conscious: there are things about myself that I don’t know and may never know, feelings that I have repressed, events that happened to me which I cannot remember – and yet they are part of who I am, and make me feel, act or desire in one way rather than another, at times against my better judgment. These constitute my psychic reality and inflect or condition my experience. I will try to show how art engages both experience and subjectivity by (re)visiting works of five women artists in their particular times, social contexts and means of expression.

Translation - Basque Artea testuinguru sozialean soilik existitzen da; testuinguru soziala, ordea, ez da artearen dimentsio bakarra. Artearen ohiko gogoeta bideak testuinguru estetikoa, kulturala, historikoa eta politikoa izan dira. Teoria feministak, berriz, produkzio artistikoko esperientzia dimentsioan jarri du arreta eta artea, teoria gisa, historian eta gizartean oinarrituriko subjektibotasun adierazpenetik sortzen dela azaldu du.
Esperientzia kontzeptuarekin ez dut soilik norbaitek dakiena edo egin dezakeena adierazi nahi; baita pertsona bakoitzak bizi den tokiaren arabera barneratu dituen ohitura, izaera, memoria, jarrera eta ikusmin multzoa ere. Eta nik subjektibotasun deitzen dudana, berriz, pertsona bakoitza gizaki eta gizabanako berdingabea bilakatzeko prozesu konplexua da. Haurtzaroan hasi eta bizitza guztian zehar irauten duen prozesu horretan gorputzak, arimak, emozioek, adimenak eta fantasiek eragiten dute. Subjektibotasuna eta identitatea ez dira gauza bera; identitateak gizartean eta gainontzekoen aurrean nola kokaturik nagoen esan nahi baitu. Identitatea askotarikoa eta kontzientea den bitartean, subjektibotasuna bakarra da, berdingabea eta neurri batean soilik kontzientea. Badaude niri buruz ez dakizkidan gauzak eta agian inoiz jakingo ez ditudanak, edo estali ditudan sentimenduak, edo gogoratu ezin ditudan jazoriko gertaerak. Hala ere ni naizenaren zati dira, eta horien ondorioz, modu jakin batean sentitzen, jokatzen eta desiratzen dut; eta ez beste batean, modu egokiena ez dela badakidan arren. Horiek osatzen dute nire errealitate psikikoa eta horiek dira nire esperientzian eragina dutenak edo nire esperientzia baldintzatzen dutenak. Bost emakume artisten lanak gogora ekarriz eta bakoitza euren momentu, testuinguru sozial eta espresio bide jakinetan aztertuz, arteak esperientzia eta subjektibotasuna elkartzen dituela erakusten saiatuko naiz.

Translation - Basque Duela hilabete batzuk, Montehermoson izan genuen bileran, eta Europako herrialderen batetik ez zetorren bakarra izanik, nire parte-hartzean funtsezkoa iruditu zitzaidan egoera horren aipamena egitea. Hautu bat egin beharra nuen: lumak eta gerripekoa hartu (jendeak beti espero ditu, eta publiko errespetagarriak txalotzen) edo eskubideko (eta komatxo artean) gisa soilik onar daitekeen berdintasun baten plantak egin?
Nire prestakuntzaren eta lanaren zati handi bat ekintza-artearen eremuan izan denez, bereziki eragiten dit “performatibitate” hitz kakofonikoa, bai hitzak testu idatzi bati ala aurkezpen publiko bati erreferentzia egin. Hau da, badakit testua halako kode batean irakurtzeko nahikoa dela pertsona gramatikal bat, lexiko berezia edo izen zerrenda bat aukeratzea. Labur esanda, badakit “Apaltasunaren gorespena” izena duen zerbaitetan “performatibitate” hitza erabiliz gero barkamena eskatu behar dela. Zin egiten dut ez dudala berriro erabiliko. Arteak ematen didan lizentziarekin, zita teorikoak zein teknizismoak saihesten ditut.
