I specialise in IT (especially ERP software) and psychology. Having worked as an in-house German-English translator for SAP in Germany for four years and now as a freelance translator for SAP, I have extensive knowledge of SAP software. Most of my experience at SAP was acquired in the Logistics application, where I translated user interfaces, user manuals and training courses for the Materials Management, Batch Management, IS-Mill Products and IS-Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals components of the SAP system. I also co-ordinated translations for the English version of the SAP customer magazine, sapinfo.net, and I translated a wide range of general texts, such as confidential material for the HR department, speeches for the management board and marketing materials.
I regularly translate the interfaces and user documentation for a wide range of ERP systems, including software for financial accounting and logistics/global trade. I have been the lead translator on a number of translation projects for prestigious international software houses.
I have a masters degree in psychology and a practitioner masters degree in psychological therapy. My psychological knowledge allows me to translate specialised psychology texts and create accurate translations that read like original texts. My practitioner masters dissertation is currently being prepared for publication.
I regularly use SDL TRADOS (Trados 7; SDL Trados 2007 Professional) and Transit to ensure consistency and efficiency. I can translate into both UK English and US English.
