Translation - English Cádiz is the capital of the province of Cádiz, Andalucia, Spain. Historically, it has been the main city of the area, although the limited space available on the island has contributed to the rise of cities in its metropolitan area throughout the 20th century, especially Jerez de la Frontera. It is also commonly known as La Tacita de Plata (the silver cup).
Cádiz is believed to be the oldest city in Western Europe, founded by Phoenician merchants some 3,000 years ago as a trading post.
