Anatomy and Medical Terminology for Translators: A Body Systems Approach is the updated and expanded version of the popular Introduction to Medical Terminology series of workshops.
This course will consist of a series of 4 interactive workshops designed to provide participants with the tools and knowledge to understand a wide range of English medical terminology. Participants will also learn the advanced basics of human anatomy translators often encounter in their careers. They will also learn how to express medical terminology in various ways depending on context. For the purpose of organization, each organ system will be presented and discussed separately. This includes basic anatomical terms, diagnostic procedures and common pathological conditions.
Target audience Translators new to the medical field.
Translators considering specializing in medicine. Learning objectives Students will learn how to analyze and understand English medical terminology. These are invaluable skills for translators specializing (or wish to specialize) in the medical field. Prerequisites There are no prerequisites for this course.
