Course summary
Description The healthcare corpus of terms exceeds the medical field when it comes to insurance, medical plans and coverage. Administrative procedures and legal riders come in place, and the translator should be able to deal with each aspect of the source material appropriately. Origins of the source materials, biding regulations and standards and target populations will drive his/her translation decisions in terms of choice of words. During this presentation, we will briefly cover the main terms and concepts that the translator need to fully understand so as to provide an appropriate rendering for effective communication:
