Comparing translation sessions: memoQ, Wordfast Pro 4 and Wordfast Classic
Course summary
Description In this session attendees will have the opportunity to see the same translation session carried out in memoQ, Wordfast Pro 4 and Wordfast Classic. The presenter will compare how the three programs work in terms of how to start a session and make initial settings, and how to use features like translation memories, glossaries, concordance searches (TM lookup), statistics, and others. The main purpose is to help users migrating from one tool to another find how to do what they used to do in the program they used previously. It may also be an opportunity to understand the differences between the tools in order to find out which one better fits one’s own needs and preferences. Target audience - Translators deciding which CAT tool to use - Translators considering migrating to a different tool Learning objectives In this webinar you will be able to understand the differences between memoQ, Wordfast Pro 4 and learn how to use their main features. Prerequisites None. No previous knowledge or experience needed. No need to own a license of any of the tools to attend the webinar. As for the requisites of the programs discussed in the webinar, Wordfast Classic works as a Microsoft Word add-in, memoQ runs on Windows (even on a virtual machine) and Wordfast Pro 4 runs on Windows and Mac (Linux coming soon).
