The New South Wales Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) is urging the federal government to set up a trust fund to protect indigenous languages.
AECG’s executive officer, Ray Ingrey, was in Broken Hill for a meeting of the Paakantyi Language Sharing Circle.
He said individual communities around the state are working hard to rejuvenate their languages.
