Ortsbo.com, a real-time translation application for services like Twitter, Google Talk and Facebook Chat, is experiencing rapid international growth that’s making it a potential takeover target.
Toronto-based Ortsbo.com has been hot enough that Lucatch has hired the Corum Group, a global leader in software mergers and acquisitions to help it consider its future.
Ortsbo.com had a $30 million offer last September after starting up last summer, Lucatch said, but noted that at this time the market is “giving us a significantly higher value.”
The company had a market capitalization of about $61 million based on its share price Thursday.
Lucatch said he is expecting a multilingual Internet to provide more international growth in countries such as Brazil, Russia and India.
