None of the above Jul 18, 2022

Right now I’m translating a complex text (33,830 words), rife with acronyms and baffling terminology…

Climate Jul 19, 2022

The thing I'm finding most difficult at the moment is to get action on reducing/eliminating the amount of CO2 we've already pumped into the atmosphere, and to make sure we don't pump more. The trouble is that most people don't seem to have learned, from Socrates, that "the beginning of wisdom is the ability to connect one thing with another".

Oh, many things Jul 19, 2022

Currently, for my job: keeping clients.
A few years ago my main client abandoned me, that is to say: while before I practically had a fixed salary with them, I am now (for about three years) in the absurd situation of seeking new clients, who are not permanent.

Then, the cost of living, providing for my daughter, the relationships with people seem to be more difficult.
And, yes, of course climate and our wellness.

I stop here,
Today I am too pessimistic

Perhaps my current situation would fit the "work-life balance" option.

My mother passed away on 21st June after a long illness and it took three weeks to complete all the formalities and arrange the funeral, which was on 8th July. My mother passed away on 21st June after a long illness and it took three weeks to complete all the formalities and arrange the funeral, which was on 8th July. The next day, I returned to Spain, where it turned out that the friend who had been looking after my place while I was away had caught COVID, which he subsequently passed on to me after picking me up at the airport. I tested positive a week ago and again today. Although most of the worst ill effects have already passed, I still have to isolate myself, which is a confounded nuisance.

As a result, I'm feeling rather lethargic and finding it difficult to comply with all the requests for work I get, and I keep putting off a couple of admin tasks (billing) which I really should get round to. The current heatwave in Spain, although not much worse than most years around this time, isn't helping my enthusiasm either.

Climate anxiety is a thing and I must say it's affecting me, and the children I have raised too. Along with "I told you so" rage, because I've been blathering on about climate catastrophe and global burning since the 1970s.

All of the above, especially finding clients, keeping clients, pressure for tight deadlines, pressure to lower rates, pricing skills, marketing skills, technology.

Restaurants Jul 27, 2022

Business-wise it's all good. But relaxation has become an issue lately. I am not the kind of person who likes trying new things, so when I find a good restaurant, I go there very often. Yet I happen to find annoying things after a while, and then I try other places, which has turned into a vicious cycle.

All of the above. Surprisingly, this option is not available, and we don't have the possibility of multiple answers.
