KudoZ term help system reaches 3 million questions asked Thread poster: Jared Tabor
|
The first KudoZ™ term help question was asked in November of 1999. Since then, translators around the world have received and provided terminology help at ProZ.com. In KudoZ, over 3 million term help questions have now been asked to date! Congratulations and thank you to everyone who has participated in making tools like KudoZ, Term search, the glossaries and GlossPost valuable resources for language professionals everywhere. Special thanks goes to ProZ.com paying members, who are the reason tools like these exist.
Best regards,
Jared

Sorry for throwing a spanner in the works, and I do see the positive spin on this (KudoZ on the face of it is a valuable and useful resource), but I just feel that there are some 'contributors' who may have helped reach that milestone a little quicker than it should have been reached.

the glossary is something.... | Feb 7, 2013 |
the term search is undefeated up to now.
I can find almost everything and I am happy when - rarely - I contribute with a useful term that is not yet in.
A suggestion: is someone there at ProZ.com collecting the terms and making a full dictionary-encyclopedia out of them?

I am grateful both to have received help and to have had the opportunity to answer a good many questions on the Kudoz system. I also am in agreement with Ty's point.
A useful tool | Feb 8, 2013 |
I'm glad to have taken part in the kudoz section up to now, and I'm happy to offer my contribution whenever I have time to do so.
I think this tool can be improved (I've proposed a new quick poll for discussion about it) for example by compelling users to provide adequate context.
Anyway, it's still an invaluable source, long life to Kudoz!
