Going venue-hunting today... Oct 5, 2009

Hi all,

I'm going to check out venues this afternoon and possibly tomorrow too (I'll let you know).

Can I meanwhile ask all those uncertain to please declare their un/availability by Sunday night? Just so I know how many people should I book for (if needs be).

Thank you all!

Time, etc. Oct 5, 2009

Whatever time suits everyone else is fine with me as I shall be coming up to Dublin earlier in the day and staying overnight.

The place Oct 7, 2009

Hi Elvira,

Room sounds kinda like bad choice as then the whole powwow would sound like a meeting altogether. Unfortunately the restaurant you are also suggesting is located on the busiest areas of Dublin and is mostly packed full of people eating at that time (5pm), so it is not an ideal choice as well... But dont mind me as i am just way too picky... -jon-

Here is one place worth visiting for food and drinks and i could get us a corner booked for us for free... http://yleismies.blogspot.com/2009/06/biabar-second-visit.html

Meeting venue Oct 7, 2009

Hi Ellie, That sounds really great - I have had a look at the Coppinger Row website and it looks good. I do think we should reserve our own room, however, or at least get ourselves organised into a slightly separate section of the restaurant so that we can hear what everyone else is saying! I have attended a couple of similar "dos" and that has always worked well.

venue Oct 7, 2009

Hey Sue, John

Thanks for your quick reply.

Of course we would have an area of the place reserved for us, that's a given...

The biggest area of the Coppinger Row is where we would be seated (they have only three or four tables apart from that), so I guess if the place were not quiet it'd just be because of us
!!

... I know it's located in a busy area, but it is pretty central, quiet and discreet, accessible to everyone, plus prices are affordable, despite its position...

I will anyway check the Biabar, as you suggested.

Please note that I need to book by this coming Friday, so please please please confirm your un/availability as soon (unless we want that room at the Teachers Club!)

Thank you all.

Coppinger Row Oct 7, 2009

4 me Coppinger Row sounds ok as, frankly speaking, I'm not going to pay 70 Euro for 2 hours as I will leave the place for theater at 7 pm o so........

Hi Ellie,

Since my daughter is only ten months old, I think it'll just be me this time - if nothing unexpected happens, that is.

Hope to see you all there!

Val

Hey Val,

really hope you can make it... I guess you won't know for sure until the day before the meeting, right?

If that's so, I'll take it into account.

Really hoping to see you there!

Ellie.

I am already using it for localization, it is interesting if you are IT oriented, to translate Windows help files and web sites. I would go for it. I vote yes.

I hear good things about it so I also vote yes, provided we don't lose out on the chance to get to know each other and chat over a drink and a bite to eat.

I can't make it... Oct 10, 2009

Dear Ellie,

Thank you for your e-mail. I'm afraid I won't be able to make it as I'm all the way in Galway and i'm attending a course at the moment.

If you ever decide to organise something in the West do let me know.

Enjoy the night!
