Sesto senso choice Nov 23, 2006

I think Sesto Senso is a very expensive restaurant, I remember when I attended the last Powwow in 2005.some interpreters mentioned that was very expensive.
I think that we should organize it in a cheaper and bigger restaurant.
I remembered one of the Washington Powwows was organized in a museum.

Perhaps we could try to do it also in a museum.

Museam? Nov 24, 2006

Which one? Aren't museams only open till 5:00 pm. Besides, I would still like to get a drink during our get together. By the way, I organized the very first Powwow in DC in 2001. We had it at Brickskellers, which is a beer pub in DC. It carries about two hundred brands of beer from all over the world, so it was fun for us, considering we were all internationals. We had a large table in the back room, so it was relatively quiet and fun.

Museum Powwow Nov 24, 2006

Hi Ksenia
The powwow in Washington was organized in the National art gallery of Washington and was organized by Monika Coulson in July 24 2004.

Sounds wonderful Nov 24, 2006

The National Gallery sounds great! But then we are talking about daytime, since it definitely closes at 5:00 pm. The National Gallery would be a great place for a Powwow. I think we are looking for something more festive for the Holiday Powwow, but we should keep the National Gallery as an option for future Powwows.

Join NCATA Luncheon? Nov 26, 2006

Should we just join the NCATA luncheon then? I am planning on going anyway. Sounds like it's all under control there, all we need to do is pay and show up. It will be a great promotion for Proz.com!

I can't make it on the 3rd Nov 26, 2006

It's my daughter's birthday party and was planned a long time ago. Besides, my husband is "booked" to babysit on Dec. 9th . I'd be very sorry to miss this oportunity to meet you, but if it's the best date for everyone else...
On the other hand I don't mind if things take place early at the museum or anywhere else. I don't mind the time, early or late. What I am looking for is not especially to party (it can come with the pack

On the other hand I don't mind if things take place early at the museum or anywhere else. I don't mind the time, early or late. What I am looking for is not especially to party (it can come with the package of course) but to meet people, as it's my first Powwow. I hope we can find something that fits more people, as I'm astonished that so few people are going. Is it because of the holidays? Should it be re-scheduled for January?

Here is another idea Nov 27, 2006

We can meet for a morning coffee on Saturday Dec. 3, say around 10:00 am and then proceed to the luncheon at Occidental together.

Sorry about the confusion Nov 27, 2006

I suggested earlier that may be we could join the NCATA luncheon on December 3 (this Saturday) instead of organizing our own event. I also suggested in my previous post that we could meet earlier this Saturday for a coffee and then go the NCATA luncheon which is taking place at Occidental Restaurant downtown at 12:00 PM this Saturday. Your quick responses are appreciated, since we are kind of running out of time.

That would be all right Nov 27, 2006

I could go at 10:00 AM on the 3rd, and leave the meeting early.

Sorry! It's not Saturday, it's Sunday! Nov 27, 2006

I am terribly sorry about confusing the days of the week. The NCATA luncheon is this SUNDAY at 12:00 pm at Occidental.

should we parhaps do this in January? Nov 28, 2006

There's no way I can come on Sunday; it's too short notice. Actually December will be difficult for me period, as there will be a lot of competition with holiday events. My suggestion: let's do this in January. What do you guys think?

Well... Nov 28, 2006

The reason why I suggested this Sunday is because it's the NCATA luncheon day, so I thought some of you would be attending this important event anyway. So we could kill two rabbits with one stone. However, December 9 date for Proz Powwow is still on. Whether you can attend or not, I am not going to postpone it till January or some other month just because some folks cannot make it this month. So, in my next e-mail, I will post the time and place for December 9th Powwow. If you can't make it... See more
