Iris, maybe we can go together? Jan 29, 2006

Whenever a new date is set... I live in Souther Crete, so we'll be catching the same ferry, I guess.

Powwow date: 26 Feb 06 Jan 30, 2006

Dear all,

That's great, we fix the 26th of February for our Powwow meeting.
Now, the next step will be to register, i.e. to confirm your participation, in order to decide the place: would it be in a hotel room with facilities for example, a restaurant, a cafeteria, etc. In case we are many, I think an hotel room with facilities, e.g. flipboard, coffee and cookies is the most cost effective solution as the more we are the splitted cost per person will be less.

Another issue which is quite important is to draw the agenda for the topics to be discussed. Personally, I have to propose one topic "how to secure payment by the Internet outsourcers", as I think it is important to all of us. I'm waiting your proposals, let's say until the 15th of February as well,in order to have time to work on the agenda.
Thanks for your attention and best regards from George

Informal get-together Jan 30, 2006

Hello all,

George, please forgive me if I am wrong, but I think that the idea of a powwow is much more informal than what you are proposing, with an agenda. It is just to meet other people and discuss informally whatever you want. I have participated in the Brighton, UK powwow and we all gathered in a pub, had name tags on and just drank a beer and chatted. I think Betty will be able to say more, as she has organized powwows in the past. If, however, everyone wants to have an agend

Powwow: Misunderstanding from my part Jan 30, 2006

Hi Effie,

Thanks for your message that took me out from a deep confusion that I was in. Therefore, things are simple, we can arrange also to gather to a cafeteria or a pub, I like the Brighton case, and we chat with no preparation in advance. OK, let's do it in thus way, it sounds great!

Powwow Jan 30, 2006

Dear Effie and George,
I think that the idea of an informal powwow is the best.
I am sure that in case there are fellow translators with queries regarding the profession we will all be more than happy to help them.
I should mention that I am not 100% sure whether I will be able to attend since it is just one week before carnival and also Sunday. But I will do my best…

Betty

Powwow: New date to be fixed Feb 22, 2006

Dear all,

Due to the recent events regarding the strike of the maritime lines, making difficulties to our colleagues leaving in the islands to meet us in Athens and to the unavailability of many colleagues during this week-end, I'm afraid that the pow wow has to be postponed once more.
I'm waiting this time your input on a new date, as well as where you want it to take place (restaurant etc.) and at what time.

Best regards,

George
