Cheekita, Spanish and Italian are two of my languages (translating into English), if that's any help.

Cheekita; from the profiles of those expressing an interest in attending, it appears there are one Italian and one Spanish native speaker plus four others who translate from Italian and / or Spanish. HTH

Language pairs. Jun 4, 2003

Cheekita: My language pair is as well Enlish into Spanish. Nevertheless I have the feeling that powwows go beyond 'language pairs' and I'm sure we will enjoy the event and will share our experiences. I'm not too experienced either because I have done more interpreting and teaching than translation itself. Looking forward to meeting you all.

thanks Ilaria Jun 10, 2003

I'm just wondering if we can meet to share our translator's experience. I'd love to learn to translate from Italian, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese into English. Maybe someone could suggest me a course or a training.Thank you! I'm still waiting for your reply, Daniela in case you are interested.

Hello everyone Jul 1, 2003

Just wanted to say that I really look forward to meeting all of you. I've read Russel's message about the Questionnaire results and it all looks good to me. Like Anette, I could do with some Trados expertise. If anyone needs help to get moving to prevent PC-related stiffness and soreness, I'll be glad to help. I'm also a certified dance teacher with some physiotherapy training. Cheers

Dancing Jul 1, 2003

Sounds great Lisa, I'd love some dancing, and I can provide relaxation techniques to help that dead-line stress and brain halt.

Dancing at the powwow? Jul 1, 2003

I was thinking more along the lines of helping with posture, stretching and relaxation etc. I teach modern, ballet and character dance, and as much as I'd love for that to be in demand among my fellow translators on an afternoon at the pub...
