The Company
Modern Arabic Translation Service (MATS) was founded in 1998 as an independent privately held Translation-based company located in Giza, Egypt. The company was created because of a need that arose in the market for Arabic translation/ localization providers. The size and development of the Arabic market is what stirred the company towards providing professional translation / localization services that adheres to industry standards.
The challenge throughout the years was to continuously strive in achieving quality results and at the same time growing and maintaining the same factor of internal quality conditions. Quality results in the Arabic language to cover the whole MENA (Middle East & North Africa) region in which there is a variation in dialect, law, currencies, etiquette, customs and business practices etc. is what MATS has learned to master. An interesting facet of the Arabic language is that multiple Arabic versions of a product are not considered necessary to support the target people of the designated MENA country. Instead, a standard Arabic that is recognized by all as the proper Arabic is used while preserving the Arab culture language. MATS honed its skills to a top-notch today which can be easily reflected in the growth MATS has achieved on every level as a professional localization provider.
For over 8 years, Modern Arabic Translation Service (MATS) has provided document translation, software and web site localization, and DTP services to local and international clients. Our document translation and web site localization rates are basically negotiable. The rates we offer include translation, proofreading and thorough editing by a professional editor, and basic formatting.

We have large experience in using TRADOS for increased consistency in our work and our translators are comfortable using Translator’ s Workbench, Tag Editor, T-Window and S-Tagger. We also use MS PowerPoint, MS Word and MS Excel.

Translation Cycle
When the finished product needs great attention to style, format, creativity, and accuracy, you can rest assured that we'll always offer you the best service available. We have three tier translation quality control mechanism:
Phase 1
Upon receipt of a document or file for translation, the project is assigned to one of our qualified project managers. PM’s job is to assess the project to determine subject matter, formatting requirements and turnaround time and schedule. He initiates work by assigning the job to the most qualified resources in the particular field, the subject matter and data processing format.
Phase 2
The first draft is revised/proof-read by other qualified translators to assure accuracy, consistency and clarity.
Phase 3
The final proof-read output is then edited by third, equally qualified editors, having at least a master’s degree in the subject matter. This extra quality control step is a vital part of providing the highest quality translation possible. Companies that are seeking a reliable translation service should ensure that all translations are edited by qualified translators and not just proof-read. The cost of editing has been included in our prices. If fact, the benefits of editing far outweigh the small additional cost included in our prices.
N.B. We can also provide editing as a separate service to clients that have documents which have already been translated.

With a team fully proficient in Illustrator, PowerPoint, Quark, Photoshop, MS Word, Pagemaker, InDesign, we can output your document into virtually all PC and Mac formats. We are also aware of Arabic-specific problems in standard DTP tools and have contrived custom turnarounds to surpass such problems.
Despite the fact that Arabic is an RTL language with characters completely different from Western languages you can get assured that your documents will appear a carbon copy of their English source thanks to our stringent DTP QA procedures.
We provide DTP service using various tools. Due to the variety in material complexity, art work, graphics, layout, text length, time frame and used tools, we require a sample of the document so that we could give an estimate. For DTP service, we offer very competitive rates for projects of large volumes and projects we receive from potential clients and strategic partners.
The localized documentation going through the DTP process is handled by expert DTP specialists who are well-run on trends and technologies. DTP specialists strong point is their attention to detail which brings accuracy and quality to any publishing project.
Although some DTP tools does not support Arabic, you do not have to consider this issue a barrier from reaching your customers in their own culture because we still can provide you a similar layout for any documentation using our own workaround ways.

All translators at MATS are accredited by Egyptian Translators Association and Arabic Translators Association.
