Russian to English: Poetry Translation - Anna Akhmatova
Source text - Russian
Translation - English Today is Monday, twenty-first. It's midnight.
The city skyline glowing away
Who was the fool that had the sudden foresight
To say that love can color daily gray?
And why are we so gullible and lazy
Why do believe we such a thing exists?
Why wait for dates, emotional and hazy,
Why crash the walls with our bare fists?
But some of us are smarter than the others
Avoiding love, they live in quiet peace
I learned the secret, and since then I’d rather
Lie down and die than open up for this…

Source text - English All for this one moment.
(Lufthansa tagline)
Translation - Russian
