After grammar school I turned my interest of medical and social subjects into working experience and I spend almost two years working in a hospital and for Regional Social Security Office. During studies at University in Ceske Budejovice, in the Czech Republic, with specialty "Handicapped children, adults and elderly" was my postgraduate dissertation "Comparing Social and Financial law Acts" published in a social insurance magazine "Work and salary". Additionally to the main subjects I specialized in general and social laws. After graduation I worked shortly in Social Administration before leaving for England to travel and learn the language into depths.
Interpreting (simultaneous, consecutive, telephone) came as an extension to already established professional level of English and Czech with additional combination of Slovak into English. University exams from social law, special pedagogy, nursing and medical subjects contributed to further development of my interpreting skills. As an experienced interpreter I provide linguistic services to courts, police, solicitors, social services, medical and education sector, and benefits agencies.
Translating (Czech <>English and Slovak > English) came as my first port of interest since having lived and worked in the UK since 1997. During this time I have gained an in-depth knowledge of the above, but not exclusively, mentioned subjects in the paragraph about interpreting. My aim is to ensure terminological accuracy and a good written style in all my translations. I also believe that it is important to offer a professional, reliable service and to keep to deadlines.
With musical, artistic background and linguist experience become natural to work as a voiceover artist, in which field I have already establish myself as a professional. So far I have recorded many various animations, commercial and narrative projects for the Czech audience.
