Source text - English The main advantages are the reusable mold, good surface finish, and good dimensional accuracy. Typical tolerances are 0.4 mm for the first 25 mm and 0.02 mm for each additional centimeter; if the dimension crosses the parting line add an additional 0.25 mm. Typical surface finishes are 2.5 to 7.5 μm RMS. A draft of 2 to 3° is required. Wall thicknesses are limited to 3 to 50 mm. Typical part sizes range from 100 g to 75 kg. Other advantages include the ease of inducing directional solidification by changing the mold wall thickness or by heating or cooling portions of the mold. The fast cooling rates created by using a metal mold results in a finer grain structure than sand casting. Retractable metal cores can be used to create undercuts while maintaining a quick action mold.

The majority of my educational background relates to mechanical engineering & computer science. The subject of my Master’s thesis is control, modeling, and analysis of XY table. I learned PC-based control, CNC machines and programming languages such as C/C++, Java & Matlab to complete my study. I went to National Cheng Kung University for Doctor’s degree in 2002. The topic of my research was related to motor learning of normal subjects and rehabilitation for stroke patients.
My first work in translation is a service manual for a cutting machine. At that time, I worked in a gear manufacturer & translated the English service manual into Traditional Chinese. Later, I worked in a patent firm & translated many English patent applications into Traditional Chinese.
I keep improving my linguistic ability by reading, writing & attending cram schools. Learning languages is an on-going activity to me. For example, after work, I attend a cram school to study Japanese now. As time goes by, I think “language” is a comprehensive term for knowledge. Chinese, English & Japanese are languages for interpersonal communication. Programming languages are languages we use to communicate with computers or electronic devices. Mechanics and mechanism design are languages we use to communicate with machines. I can “speak” these languages a little bit.
I dreamed of becoming a translator since I was a senior high school student. Although I am a part-time translator now, I will be a full-time translator one day.
