Bu yapraklar birçok hastalığın tedavisinde kullanılabilir ve geleneksel olarak da yaprakları şeker yerine olarak kullanılır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Stevia rebaudiana yapraklarının tiyoasetamidle oluşturulmuş hepatotoksisiteve karşı hepatoprotektif aktivitesinin değerlendirilmesidir. Çalışmada Stevia rebaudiana yapraklarının sulu ekstreleri (AESR) 200 ve 400 mg/kğ/ğün dozlarda değerlendirilmiştir. AESR ’nın 400 mg kg gün dozda oral yolla uygulanması kontrol grubu ile karşılaştırdığında aspartam transaminaz (AST, 131.1+3.0 IU/L), alanin aminotransferaz (ALT, 62.2+1.8 IU/L), gama glutanıil transpeptidaz (GGT, 13.0- 0.3 IU/L), alkalin fosfataz (ALP, 19714+3.2 IU/L) ve total bilirubin (0.23+0.0 mg/dL) düzeylerinde önemli düşüş tespit edilmiştir. Karaciğer doku örneklerindeki karaciğer glutatyon (GSH) ve ALDA seviyeleri de ölçülmüştür. Ekstrelerle tedavi edilen hawanların karaciğer bölümlerinin histolojisi nekrozun doza bağlı olarak azaldığını göstermiştir. Bu değerlendirme Stevia rebaudiana yapraklarının sulu ekstrelerinin tiyoasetamidle oluşturulmuş hepatotoksisiteve karşı hepatoprotektif aktivitesi olduğunu göstermektedir.
Translation - English The leaves of Stevia rebaudiana Bert, is known as a hypocaloric bio-sweetener. It can be used in the treatment of multiple health diseases and traditionally the leaves of Stevia are used as a sugar substitute. This study was carried out to evaluate the hepatoprotective activity of Stevia rebaudiana leaves against the thioacetamide-induced (s.c.) hepatotoxicity. The aqueous extract of Stevia rebaudiana leaves (AESR) at dose levels of 200 and 400 mg/kg/day were examined. While it is compared to the control group, the oral administration of AESR at 400 mg/kg resulted in a significant reduction in aspartate transaminase, (AST, 131.1±3.0 IU/L), alanine aminotransferase (ALT, 62.2±1.8 IU/L), gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT, 13.0±0.3 IU/L), alkaline phosphatase (ALP, 197.4±3.2 IU/L) and total bilirubin (0.23±0.0 mg/dL) levels. Liver glutathione (GSH) and ALDA levels in liver tissue samples were also measured. The histology of the liver sections of the animals treated with the extract also showed that the necrosis was reduced in a dose-dependent manner. This present examination revealed that the aqueous leaf extract of the Stevia rebaudiana leads a hepatoprotective activity against thioacetamide-induced hepatotoxicity.

Edvard Munch'ın 'Çığlık' adlı tablosu bu akımı anlamamız için önemli bir örnektir. Munch bu tablodaki çığlık olgusuyla bir şeylerin ters olduğunu vurgulamak istemiştir.
Translation - English The main purpose of modern art is to overcome the traditional sense of art. Therefore, there wouldn’t and shouldn’t be any evaluation criteria designated for art. The aesthetic values are not taken into consideration. The impact revives in your perception is just enough for these artists. No new rules were introduced in return for the aesthetic criteria that disappeared with this flow. Edvard Munch’s painting called “The Scream” is an important example for us to understand this art movement. Munch wanted to emphasize that something is wrong with the screaming phenomenon in this table.

İhtiyacı olan suyu aldığında boyu 3 metreden fazla uzayabilen bu bitki, aynı zamanda susuzluğa oldukça dayanıklı olması ile bilinir. Kışın sert koşullarına fazla dayanıklı değildir. Genellikle pembe çiçekli türüne rastlanan zakkum, zehirli bir bitkidir. Bu sebeple çocukların kolayca ulaşamayacağı yerlerde yetiştirilmesine dikkat edilmeldir.
Translation - English Those who wish to grow plants and trees at the seaside should prefer the plants resistant to the wind and salt coming from the sea. The plant who loves the sea, sun, and sand at least as much as we do is the oleander flower. This plant, which can grow more than 3 meters in length when it is nourished with enough water, is also known to be highly resistant to lack of water. It is not very resistant to harsh conditions in winter. The oleander, which is usually found in pink flowering species, is a poisonous plant. For this reason, its growing area should be somewhere that cannot be easily reached by children.
