El tiempo corre en contra de Grecia, pero también para el conjunto de la UE, ya que si no pone freno pronto a la crisis de deuda de la República Helénica podría poner en duda la solidez y credibiliad de la eurozona. Además, a cada día que pasa, más se encarecen las necesidades financieras de Atenas, lo que urge ha encontrar ya una salida y evitar que el contagio vaya más allá de Portugal y España, ya tocados por las agencias de calificación. Ante este panorama, la Comisión Europea ha confirmado esta mañana que las negociaciones entre la UE y el FMI con Grecia están "a punto de terminar" para poder activar los créditos previstos en el plan de rescate. "Es cuestión de días", ha inisistido el comisario europeo de Asuntos Económicos, Olli Rehn.
