**Please note that due to health reasons I won't be accepting any work till further notice. Thanks for your consideration and best wishes.**
"Accuracy matters" is my motto.
How can you spot a "good translation"? You can't!
A high quality translation is seamless, and hence "invisible" to the reader.
Electronic "intelligence" can not replace human intellect when it comes to the most appropriate terms and structure the document requires to be easily understood (and much more appreciated) by your foreign language speaking audience.
A great translator must be utterly familiar with both languages in order to decide which terms are most appropriate for the target audience; he/she must be able to convey not only the meaning of the phrase but also try to capture the "intent" and subtle nuances contained in the original text.
Think of the vast difference between a house and a home. In English saying states that "home is where the heart is", while a house is merely a place of residence. That's why "accuracy matters".
To overcome the language "barrier" I rely on my experience growing up and studying languages in Italy, and marry it with my 30+ years of living and working in "corporate America".
I specialize in IT-EN business, technical, finance, general law (contracts, certificates, insurance policies, court decisions), lifestyle and travel translations, but I am also experienced in computer software, culinary, editorial and general health care translations.
I take pride in doing a good job and meeting deadlines so that in turn, you may meet yours. My output is generally between 1500-2000 words/day since I focus on quality rather than speed.
