I'm Belgian, 42 years old, living in Brazil (Belo Horizonte) since 4 years now.
Having lived one year in the USA (Seattle), and having worked for British (Logica) and French (Renault) companies, as well as for language-wise very demanding customers like the European Commission, I have acquired a fluency in English and French in whichever subject, being able to translate as well between them without having to use my native language. I am able to do so as well in (Brazilian) Portuguese.
I currently live In Brazil where I'm taking courses to become Commercial Pilot.
I've followed the courses and passed the theoretical examinations for Private Pilot and Commercial pilot which shows my general and technical knowledge of Brazilian Portuguese. During the flights, I communicate in Portuguese with Air Traffic Control.
I teach 'Navegação Aérea" at a local flying school. In general, my knowledge of Portuguese in the fields of science and engineering is excellent.
Here in Belo Horizonte, I teach English privately to 6 students as well as French to 2. The lessons are adapted to every student individually.
Teaching the languages further enhances my own abilities and is thus also positive for my translation work.
My strongest asset is translating TO English, especially in the fields of Business, Project Management, Marketing, Financial. I have a nice experience translating Legal texts as well between Dutch and English, in both directions.
