Bio
An ideal interpreter for a business meeting should be the one who has work experience in the relevant field and knows the two languages (even the acquired one is not very fluent). But if you can't find such a person (as is often the case), you can hire an independent interpreter. An interpreter knows the source and target language well in general terms and is experienced in short term memory and verification, and is supposed to have good people-to-people skills. But during a meeting, an interpreter does not function automatically, she or he needs to spend time to familiar with the new context, subjects and the terminologies. A good collaboration and information exchange between the speaker(s) and the interpreter beforehand is necessary and will guarantee a successful communication.

conference interpreter(cn-en) and generalist translator(cn-en-fr).

As a certified translator of OTTIAQ, I have more than three hundred days’ interpretation experience for conferences/meetings in various countries and occasions for miscellaneous subjects. A list of recent CI missions is available upon request.

The bulk of my translation experience lies in the area of journalism(4 years), law(1year), business, finance, construction and mechanical engineering (3 years). I  live in Montreal, Canada.

I do not use any CAT tools.
