Source text - English By 2050, global population is projected to be 50% larger than at present and global grain demand is projected to double6–8. This doubling will result from a projected 2.4-fold increase in per capita real income and from dietary shifts towards a higher proportion of meat (much of it grain-fed) associated with higher income. Further increases in agricultural output are essential for global political and social stability and equity. Doubling food production again, and sustaining food production at this level, are major challenges 8–11. Doing so in ways that do not compromise environmental integrity4, 12, 13 and public health14, 15 is a greater challenge still. We focus here on scientific and policy challenges that must be met to sustain and increase the net societal benefits of intensive agricultural production.

Source text - English JAKARTA, Indonesia (XX) -- A strong undersea earthquake struck off eastern Indonesia on Thursday, briefly triggering a tsunami alert, the country’s meteorological and geophysics agency said.
Indonesian scientists gave the quake a preliminary magnitude of 6.5. The United States Geological Survey said its initial estimate was a more modest 5.5. Such discrepancies are common in the immediate aftermath of a quake.
There were no immediate reports of damage as a result of the quake 100 miles southeast of Sumbawa Island, said NN, a staffer at Indonesia’s meteorological and geophysics agency.

Científicos indonesios señalaron que el terremoto tuvo una magnitud preliminar de 6,5. El Servicio Geológico de los Estados Unidos señaló que la estimación inicial del sismo fue de tan sólo 5,5. Estas discrepancias son comunes en las estimaciones que se realizan inmediatamente después de un temblor.
