I lived in Sapporo, Japan for over fourteen years. My wife is Japanese and assists with checking my J>E translations.
I earned a MS in mechanical engineering in September, 2001.
In addition to engineering and other technical translation, I have translated some environmental reports and other business materials, and three short stories that were published in a collection of Japanese writers' horror stories modeled on H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulu mythos.

I can accept payment in yen in a Japanese bank.
