Position: Project Management and Quality Control in Localization
Dear Hiring Team,
My name is Evgenia. I
know everything there is to know about localization.
Nothing in the translation industry can surprise, scare, or confuse
me. I am proficient in localizing documents, presentations, websites,
educational courses up to university programs, applications and
software, platforms, films, and stand-up shows. There are no taboo
topics, impossible tasks, or deadlines too tight for me. Of course,
knowing the language I’m working with is an advantage. However, not
knowing the source or target language doesn’t hinder me from
effectively managing the process.
Do you already have a team
of translators? I can seamlessly integrate into it. Do you lack
specialists for a certain language? I’m almost certain I have
them—over the years, I have built a vast network of vetted
freelancers and partners worldwide. Do you have no localization
department at all and need to build one from scratch? You’ve come
to the right place.
Now, let me elaborate on why
I am confident in making these statements.
Having originated from Moscow, Russia, I have been
residing in Bulgaria for the past eight
years. My career, spanning over 25 years
in remote translation and almost 20 years in project management,
is marked by a profound passion for handling diverse content types,
including written texts, audio, video, and subtitles.
As a Russian language specialist, I excel in
translation, editing, quality assurance, MTPE, and content creation.
My skill set extends to project
management across Russian, English, and German
languages, with the ability to work on content in English,
German, Bulgarian, and Ukrainian.
I wish to make it clear that I am in strong
opposition to Russia's internal and external policies.
My work with Western news agencies, translating significant
footage from Ukrainian into English, stands as a testament to my
stance.
My professional journey includes founding
and managing my own linguistic business,
which I built from the ground up. It enjoys an excellent reputation
both in Russian and international markets. I have devoted
considerable effort to staffing, nurturing
a team of proficient project managers under my guidance.

Among my notable projects, I managed the preparation of extensive tender
documentation for communications satellites.
This involved coordinating a team of over 20 people, managing over
a thousand pages with notarization, and working continuously
under tight deadlines. My client won the tender twice, leading
to the launch of two satellites that I proudly associate with my
efforts. Additionally, I oversaw the creation and translation of annual reports for major corporations,
including an international bank and a leading Russian energy company.
On an individual level, I have collaborated with
an Austrian university, organizing seminars across Russia. This
included logistical planning, translation of an entire MBA course
from German to Russian (over 6,000 pages), and working as an
interpreter during seminars.
For 14 years, I served as a project manager for
one of the world's largest management consulting companies, ensuring
24/7 availability for task assignments, accounting, invoicing, and
payment control. My work encompassed handling translation, editing,
copywriting, proofreading, and market analysis, averaging about 3,000
pages (or 700,000 words) monthly.
Regarding technical competencies, I am proficient
with AegiSub, Wondershare, Subtitle
Editor; Ooona, Zendesk, Zoo, Meta, CE5&6
interfaces, and translation memory software like Trados,
SmartCat, MemSource etc.
I pride myself on being a responsible individual
who thrives under tight deadlines and honors commitments. My
willingness to work hard, including evenings and weekends, makes me a
valuable asset to any employer. I am confident that my contribution
to your team will be mutually beneficial.
Thank you for considering my application. I am
available for a video interview and eager to answer any further
questions.
