Source text - English To have Faith in Christ means, of course, trying to do all that He says. There would be no sense in saying you trusted a person if you would not take his advice. Thus if you have really handed yourself over to Him, it must follow that you are trying to obey Him. But trying in a new way, a less worried way. Not doing these things in order to be saved, but because He has begun to save you already. Not hoping to get to Heaven as a reward for your actions, but inevitably wanting to act in a certain way because a first faint gleam of Heaven is already inside you.
Your real, new self (which is Christ's and also yours, and yours just because it is His) will not come as long as you are looking for it. It will come when you are looking for Him. Does that sound strange? The same principle holds, you know, for more everyday matters. Even in social life, you will never make a good impression on other people until you stop thinking about what sort of impression you are making. Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it. The principle runs through all life from top to bottom, Give up yourself, and you will find your real self. Lose your life and you will save it. Submit to death, death of your ambitions and favourite wishes every day and death of your whole body in the end submit with every fibre of your being, and you will find eternal life. Keep back nothing. Nothing that you have not given away will be really yours. Nothing in you that has not died will ever be raised from the dead. Look for yourself, and you will find in the long run only hatred, loneliness, despair, rage, ruin, and decay. But look for Christ and you will find Him, and with Him everything else thrown in.
Translation - Portuguese Ter fé me Cristo significa, claro, tentar fazer tudo o que Ele diz. Não haveria sentido em se dizer que confia em alguém e não aceitar o conselho dessa pessoa. Assim, se você realmente se entregou a Ele, o que precisa vir a seguir é que você tente obedecê-lo. Mas, tentando de uma maneira diferente, uma maneira menos preocupada. Não para fazer essas coisas a fim de ser salvo, mas porque Ele já começou a salvá-lo. Não porque espera ir ao Céu como recompensa por suas ações, mas sem poder evitar agir de determinada maneira porque um primeiro brilho fraco do Céu já está dentro de você.
Seu novo eu, real (que é Cristo, mas também é você, mas que é você só porque é Ele) não acontecerá enquanto estiver procurando por isso. Não acontecerá enquanto estiver procurando por Ele. Isso não soa estranho? O mesmo princípio se mantém, como você sabe, para outros assuntos do dia-a-dia. Mesmo na vida social, você nunca passará uma boa impressão a outras pessoas até que pare de pensar sobre que tipo de impressão está passando. Mesmo na literatura e na arte, nenhum homem que se preocupa com a originalidade conseguirá ser original, enquanto se você somente tentar dizer a verdade (sem se preocupar com a frequência com que ela já foi dita) irá, nove em cada de vezes, se tornar original sem nem mesmo perceber. O princípio percorre todo o escopo da vida, de cima a baixo. Desista de si mesmo e encontrará seu eu verdadeiro. Perca sua vida, e a salvará. Submeta-se à morte, a morte diária de suas ambições e de seus desejos favoritos e a morte de todo o seu corpo no final, com cada fibra do seu ser e encontrará a vida eterna. Não mantenha nada para si. Nada do que você não abrir mão será realmente seu. Nada em você que deixe de morrer ressuscitará dos mortos. Source text - English FROM THE OVAL-SHAPED flower-bed there rose perhaps a hundred stalks spreading into heart-shaped or tongue-shaped leaves half way up and unfurling at the tip red or blue or yellow petals marked with spots of colour raised upon the surface; and from the red, blue or yellow gloom of the throat emerged a straight bar, rough with gold dust and slightly clubbed at the end. The petals were voluminous enough to be stirred by the summer breeze, and when they moved, the red, blue and yellow lights passed one over the other, staining an inch of the brown earth beneath with a spot of the most intricate colour. The light fell either upon the smooth, grey back of a pebble, or, the shell of a snail with its brown, circular veins, or falling into a raindrop, it expanded with such intensity of red, blue and yellow the thin walls of water that one expected them to burst and disappear. Instead, the drop was left in a second silver grey once more, and the light now settled upon the flesh of a leaf, revealing the branching thread of fibre beneath the surface, and again it moved on and spread its illumination in the vast green spaces beneath the dome of the heart-shaped and tongue-shaped leaves. Then the breeze stirred rather more briskly overhead and the colour was flashed into the air above, into the eyes of the men and women who walk in Kew Gardens in July.

Bio
I'm a native Brazilian and can work with both translation and interpretation in the language pair English-Brazilian Portuguese. I'm also fluent in Spanish. I'm a former Oceanographer and Environmental Manager. Therefore my areas of interest are mostly related to Environmental Sciences. However, my biggest affinity is in the areas of Literary and Religion. My translating experience includes simultaneous translations ((EN-ES, ES-PTBr e EN-PTBr) in conference and webinars for Operation Mobilization (OM); translation of documents and official letters (from English into Portuguese or Spanish and vice-versa) while I served on the MV Logos Hope ship of Operation Mobilization; and a volunteer translation projecto for Translation Commons.
