I'm a casual translator with 3 years of experience, using English, Chinese and Korean daily. English had always been a language highly used in my household while being Chinese, also because I'm highly interested in Korea, I learned Korean too a few years back. I'd achieved C1 proficiency in English, an average of A in Chinese, and also intermediate level in Korean. The one experience that meant a lot to me was back when I was a translator for a state level event, which eventually gave me the chance to get promoted to being the main translator the following year. Not only translating, though, I've always been active in stage performances such as poetry reciting competitions, NILAM (book reading and presenting) competition and also public speaking from a very young age. Thanks to my personality, I will be able to finish jobs as early as I can, therefore, no worries for rushed jobs on me. Before starting to work on translating the entire text, I like to read it through first then choose the best word for each of them to bring out the original meaning and feeling in the origin language. As mentioned, I've been doing translation with 3 years of experience, therefore, I do have quite a bit of recognition in translating in my own town. |
