Source text - English “The Korean War, as any other event of this type, has left a great impact in the history of the country as well as a big wound in the psychology and memory of the participants. The great impact has dissipated not only in the everyday life, but it has taken over the post 1950’s literature, not only in Korea, and therefore has become the backdrop of many literary creations over time. Park Wan Suh is one of the Korean writers dealing with the topic of the Korean War. She is known for mixing autobiographical details with social realities in her works, and has managed to offer a nonconformist analysis of the society, while offering an emotional rendering of the everyday life intertwined with autobiographical aspects. ”

Funcțiunea ei primară e de a iubi.(..)Amantă și mamă, iată cele două tipare ale eternului feminin. Între o porumbiță și o femeie sunt corespondențe ce le apropie, în unele privinți, mai mult decât de porumbel și de bărbat; aceleași instincte puternice le stăpânesc și le conduc; femeia și femela iubesc la fel, iar, în fața primejdiei, își apără puiul cu același devotament matern. Dacă porumbițele ar avea o literatură, s-ar asemăna cu literatura celor mai mari scriitoare contimporane.”
