Bio
With my intense interest in science, languages, and history, having traveled to countries in North and South America, Europe, and Asia, I began my career with three university degrees in undergraduate and graduate studies as an electrical and electronics engineer, specialization in digital signal processing, along with the third degree in linguistic arts (French).
As an engineer I visited hundreds of facilities in the northeastern United States in the states of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. For those customers I provided engineering expertise in circuit designs, applications solutions, and sales experience for systems and instrumentation used in electronics manufacturing, pharmaceutical products, biomedical instruments, smelting operations, nuclear and conventional electrical power generation, calibration and metrology, as well as other engineering solutions at customer sites.
As I worked with clients, I enhanced my expertise in both technical and linguistic skills. Later, a friend invited me to work in the field of investments, attaining the qualification of "Certified Financial Planner," using my professional licenses registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. In order to travel less and to assist my family, with my continued passion for languages, I transitioned into freelance translation. A multilingual friend, aware of my experience, introduced me to several clients. Over time he and I enjoyed conversations with native speakers in several languages. On some occasions he or I would speak to audiences of hundreds of attendees in languages other than English.
With the issues confronting persons who need translation services, coupled with Internet access that avoids the problems of wasting time with commuting to a large city and exposure to disease during a pandemic, I continue to enjoy the social contacts that technology has made possible. Of course, I look forward to the opportunity to travel, savor a wide variety of cuisines, and scuba dive, while encouraging persons I meet to cooperate and collaborate for all of us to enjoy life on this beautiful planet.
