Bio
I was born into a bilingual family (Serbian & Bulgarian
languages used daily) and throughout my life, I was passionate about learning
and mastering foreign languages. First I started with various Balkan languages,
which is expected having in mind where I grew up. Afterward came English and
Russian.
I mastered my Russian by interacting daily with native
speakers for 7 years and still use it daily to this moment. My husband is
Russian and a few relatives as well, which gives me the opportunity to
understand the language more deeply. I also worked for a Russian company for 3
years - interior and graphic design, assistant, and translator. Translations
were related to the food industry - articles for magazines, translation of food
ingredient labels, and marketing materials. I still translate articles for
their website and social media page.
After graduating from the National Academy of Arts (BA
degree in Fashion design) I worked as a teacher of Arts and Technology for 4
years in Varna and Sofia (Bulgaria) and translated much of the materials needed
for work. History of Art and Costume, Technology, Pedagogy, many articles
regarding the psychology of color, and even one children's book for young
scouts. All of the sources were mostly English but also Russian and Serbian.
Translations I did in Serbian were for Tera Communications
company - mobile and entertainment-related texts. This was a great experience
that showed me the fun and positive side of a translator's job.
