After completing my Spanish MA in Law I
lived for 12 years in England and Scotland (1997-2009). I came back
to Spain with a solid grasp of the English languaje and British
cultural context, not only because daily interaction with my host
society but also because I am a voracious reader. Halfway in my stay
I got the Proficiency Certificate in English Language issued by
Cambridge University. In my last years I worked in the financial
sector. Back in Madrid, my home city, I
underwent studies in General translation and Legal Translation in
Estudio Sampere, a prestigious private center. I worked as a
freelance translator for some time but after having married and
having a child, I left the thrilling but risky field of
self-employement and opted for a steadier (albeit not always bigger)
income as an employee in different companies (Banco Popular,
Sanitas). This jobs not were always focused on international
customers or the use of English and I also missed making my own
decisions formative or workwise.
That is why I am currently willing to
return to the translating field where I worked sometime ago. |
