I'm an MA graduate of Translation Studies. I finished my BA in Esfahan University and my MA in Sheikh Bahaei University.
Studying in this major and more than 8 years of working as a freelance translator added to my passion for languages and language learning, which is my best hobby.
During these years I've translated in different fields, mostly in management, marketing, and related areas. My Persian translations of the following books are published by an Iranian Publishing Agent (Amokhteh Publications):
1. According to Kotler (by Philip Kotler)
2. The 20-Minute Manager (Harvard Business Review)
I can think of 2 characteristics as having contributed to my overall success in the field:
1. I'm very passionate about translating. It's not just a job for me. I enjoy and learn!
2. In case I don't know a word, etc, I don't "invent", I just look it up, or research or ask about it.
As I remember from Uni days "a translator's first duty is to UNDERSTAND the text". |
